Hope for a village
Zziwa George is a humble individual with the story of so many Ugandan children. As a child he sold fire wood to help support the family and pay education fees. After he lost his father, he was introduced to visitors from the USA. Soon they were sponsoring children in his school.
"I was one of the students who was sponsored, though most students didn't get a chance and they stayed home. Some of them were my best friends. As I grew up, towards my junior school I told my friends that when I group up I will work hard to get money and build a school where poor children can come to have an education." ~ Zziwa George
George saw the opportunity to help when he was introduced to the village of Kidheboro in Bugiri, Uganda through the Youth With a Mission organization. There was no school within walking distance so all the children stayed home to help on the farms that fed their families. Soon the dream of a school became a reality with the help from generous donors who believe in George as a servant of God.
The village of Kidheboro is excited to have the school for their children. The local chief and elders promote learning and hope at least one child from each family will be able to attend the school. "The adults as well hope they have an opportunity to learn some new skills from the school. Imagine the transformation for our community." ~ Chief of Kidheboro
George followed his vision through civil engineering certifications, volunteer work, and discipleship training. Youth With a Mission, Homes of Hope and Children of Grace are a few of the organizations involved in his training.
