About Friends of Raven's Ark School

Friends of Raven's Ark School Transforms Children's Lives.

Nestled in the small village of Kidhebero in the district of Bugiri, Uganda is a new nursery and primary school working to make a difference. Children at home are helping with the chores such as tending goats and chickens or working in the potato and corn fields to pull weeds. Herds of cows are guided up and down the hole pocked dirt road while families carry goods on their heads and yellow containers of water in their hands. For hundreds of years the families in this area have been surviving on their gardens and natural resources with no school.

George Zziwa discovered this village and their needs while teaching life skills for Youth With A Mission in the village.

"While I was teaching life skills in Kidhebero village I noticed a  small girl watching from under a mango tree. Her name was Deborah and she was 8 years old. When I walked up to her she said, “I would like to learn” . Deborah meant more than life skills. She wanted to go to school. You see, there were no schools for young children in this remote village." ~ George Zziwa, school founder

Now, thanks to the generous help of a few kind hearts, Raven Ark’s Nursery and Primary School opened its doors in 2021.  There are 150 children from 3 years old to 12 years old who are learning how to write their names and add numbers to begin their educational journey.

"Sadly, each day another parent or grandparent visits the school to request an education for their child but they are put on a waiting list until we have enough funds for more school supplies and food. In addition, the elders of the village request us to enroll one child per family so the community can truly be transformed. Your help will go directly to the children of Raven's Ark to make a real difference." ~ Zziwa George, School Founder

"You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there.” ~Kings 1
